The Book Of Mormon (2011 – 2012)
From the creators of South Park, Book Of Mormon has been one of the biggest musical success stories of the past decade – probably second only to the phenomenon that is Hamilton. When it first debuted in 2011, Josh Gad was one of the two leads along with Andrew Rannells as Elders Cunningham and Price respectively. The pair were each nominated for a Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical.

Frozen (2013)
Disney always seemed like a natural fit for Gad, who’s the kind of incredible voice actor and musical performer the mighty mouse seems to covet once they get them into their ranks. As Olaf, he got to utilise all of the skills in his arsenal and centre the film with a comedic, sweet and soaring performance … that just so happened to be of a delusional snowman.
Love and Other Drugs (2010)
No stranger to playing the comic relief, Gad was able to do much more than that as Josh Randall, the younger brother to Jake Gyllenhaal’s Jamie and golden child of the family. Suffering after the breakdown of his marriage and fighting an addiction to porn, he brought a vulnerability and emotional heart to the film that often struggled to overcome the heady mix of dramatic and comedic influences.

Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Obviously making such an impression first time round, Gad got to swap out his animated role in a Disney Princess movie for a live-action one. Playing Gaston’s loyal sidekick LeFou in the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, he got to enthuse the movie with his musical theatre credentials as he danced, sung and flirted his way through scenes. He was the perfect lovable antidote to play opposite Luke Evans’ OTT villain and also became Disney’s first openly gay character.
