Bosnians have reportedly been risking death in their search for Charmanders, Squirtles and Sandshrews.
A Bosnian demining charity Posavina bez mina has warned Pokemon Go players not to stray into areas still littered with landmines left from the 1990s conflict.
"Today we received information that some users of the Pokemon Go app in Bosnia were going to places which are a risk for (unexploded) mines, in search of a pokemon," the NGO said on its Facebook page.
"Citizens are urged not to do so, to respect demarcation signs of dangerous mine fields and not to go into unknown areas."
At least 600 people have been killed in landmine accidents in Bosnia since the end of the war in 1995, and another 1,100 people have been wounded.
It is estimated that there are around 120,000 unexploded landmines still undiscovered in the country.
Pokemon Go has created a global frenzy as players roam real-world locations searching for cartoon monsters.
The app has already been blamed for a wave of crimes and complaints around the world.
