You know who gets a bad wrap? The Catholic Church. Decades of systematic child abuse and then even more systematic covering of child abuse will do that, particularly in traditionally fervent nation of Ireland.

The scandal has had a huge impact the way the church is regarded by the Irish but a man named John Micheal McDonagh wanted to approach it in a different way.

He's the filmmaker behind movies like the The Guard and famously wrote Heath Ledger's version of Ned Kelly, and he wanted to make a very dark movie with some very funny people. It stars Dylan Moran, Chris O'Dowd and Brendan Gleeson, and it's called Calvary.
