In Australia, 76% of women under 30 have experienced some form of digital abuse. 1.6 million women and nearly 700,000 men have been stalked at some point in their life. In the last year 1 in 6 women and 1 in 11 men experienced some form of sexual harassment. And in 2017 nearly 25,000 Australians reported a sexual assault. That’s up 8% from last year.

In the majority of cases, the perpetrator was someone the victim knew.

Tinder, Bumble and Grindr make it pretty easy to report someone behaving badly. But now, there’s a new dating app in town - and the creators say it will help keep singles safe.

Like Uber, you can rate your date based on the accuracy of their profile and how safe you found them. So, the more polite and respectful you are, the higher your score.

But when it comes to rating others, what’s to stop people from abusing the system if they’ve just had a crappy date?
Celeste Ong spoke with Michael Hing and Marty Smiley.
