As there are fewer journalists working for media outlets, the number of media advisors has grown, placing a lot of emphais on getting the soundbites and photo opportunities just right. 

Over the weekend, Fairfax reported that the Office Of The Prime Minister & Cabinet created a seperate hub of thirty seven communications specialists at a cost of 4.3 million dollars annually. Scott Morrison also employs 100 communications staff, costing the public 8 million per year. In 2011 the department employed just thirteen staff.
