This Sunday Rio hosted the Dog Olympic Games with events such jumping, water hurdles and synchronised swimming.
On the warm sunny day, dogs and their owners competed in events hosted by a local dog park.
Marco Antonio Toto, owner of the dog-park and organiser of the games, said his goal was to provide an opportunity for pets and humans to socialise while celebrating sports.
The day’s events coincided with the last day of Brazil’s Paralympic Games, which followed the country’s hosting of the Summer Olympics over three weeks in August.
