The Internet isn’t impressed with Melania Trump’s nude cover

A US newspaper has come under fire for 'slut-shaming' Melania Trump.

Regardless of which side of the political spectrum they’re on, plenty of people are condemning The New York Post for running nude photos of Melania Trump.

The unearthed images, one of which was featured on the paper’s cover under the headline “The Ogle Office”, were taken over two decades ago as part of a photo shoot for a French men’s magazine which has since gone out of business.

Mrs Trump was 25 at the time and working as a model.
Although the photographer behind the images told the Post he’s proud of them because, “it is important to show the beauty and the freedom of the woman”, the decision to republish them has been heavily criticised online with the Post being accused of “slut-shaming” the country’s potential next first lady.

Many are calling the cover "tasteless" and "outrageous" while one opponent of the Slovenian-born Republican argues that "there is plenty to shame Melania Trump for without pretending posing nude as a model is an unforgiveable ungodly sin".
An adviser for the Trumps has told CNN that "there's nothing to be embarrassed about" and the images are "a celebration of the human body as art."

Meanwhile in a comment given to the Post, Donald Trump said, "Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines... In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common."
