A street in Melbourne's northeast has been left looking like "a war zone" after thieves broke into six Mercedes-Benz cars in the neighbourhood.
Three cars on Heath Street and another three on Macedon Road in Lower Templestowe were broken into between midnight and 4am on Sunday, police said.
Sahar Ghaly told AAP her 2018 A-Class Mercedes had its window smashed and various items stolen from inside including personal documents, medications and textbooks.
A spare key to her son's car - which had been in the glovebox - are gone, along with a jacket the school teacher had bought for her mother just a day earlier, she added.
"We have never had problems. It is a peaceful street. I am living in fear now," she said, adding she was checking her security footage for relevant vision to give to police.

"We worry that they are coming back. We are in a war zone. The street looks like a war zone."
The thieves also ripped the roof of her daughter's convertible CLK240 but had not been able to steal any items inside.
Her neighbour's Mercedes was also trashed in the attack.
Ms Ghaly knew she had trouble when her usually quiet Cavoodle would not stop barking about 4am.
"The dog was going crazy. I was too scared to go outside. She did not stop (barking)," Ms Ghaly said, adding she only went out in the daylight to check what had happened.
It is understood a couple of people had been spotted in the street about midnight.
All that is left is glass strewn across the street and damaged cars, she said.
"Our neighbourhoods need to be free from hooliganism."
