British PM May 'expected to quit Friday'

London's The Times newspaper is reporting that Prime Minister Theresa May is expected to announce her resignation on Friday.

British Prime Minister Theresa May is expected to announce her departure from office, The Times has reported, without citing a source.

The newspaper said May is will make the announcement of Friday.

May will remain as prime minister while her successor is elected in a two-stage process under which two final candidates face a ballot of 125,000 Conservative Party members, the newspaper said.
