Advocates call for more support for young carers falling behind

New research shows young people who take on care-giving responsibilities are more likely to fall behind in school and experience financial stress, including unemployment and lower superannuation balances as they grow up. Nonprofit organisation Little Dreamers is calling for more funding for young carer support programs and to help identify young carers who are slipping through the cracks.
