Albanese delivers first speech at the UN

Australia's credentials as a middle power has underpinned Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's first address at the UN General Assembly. He's re-launched a bid for a seat on the Security Council, one started by the Turnbull government. Mr Albanese also used his platform to appeal for the UN to overhaul its operations, and to combat the rise of authoritarianism and dictatorships.
