AMA urges federal government to address elective surgery backlog

The nation's peak medical body has issued a plea to the federal government to intervene to address huge elective surgery waiting lists across the country. The Australian Medical Association says without urgent action to address the backlog, the numbers of those waiting will increase significantly this year.
