A week after slashing thousands of jobs, ANZ has been ordered to pay a record fine. ASIC has accused the bank of engaging in widespread misconduct, from allegedly mishandling a $14 billion bond sale for the federal government to a series of failings impacting almost 65,000 customers. ANZ has agreed to pay $240 million in penalties, the largest financial hit a single company has faced by the regulator.
