Magnanimity, grace, unity and acceptance have been the hallmarks of concession speeches for defeated presidential candidates throughout the past three decades of US history. The president's response to the disputed result of the 2020 election contrasts the rhetoric of all the previous candidates who failed to get the necessary electoral votes to win in the last 30 years of US history.
