Australia has officially launched its bid for a sixth term on the United Nations Security Council. Its last two-year term ended in 2014. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong will take their pitch to the UN General Assembly in New York. The high-stakes talks come at a time of heightened global uncertainty around AI and as the Middle East remains mired in war.
