Calls on government to fast-track visas for Iranian refugees amid Australia-Iran tensions

Greens Senator David Shoebridge is calling on the federal government to fast-track the visas of Iranian refugees left in limbo in Australia. Last week, the government announced the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps will be listed as a terrorist organisation. Iran's ambassador to Australia was also expelled from the country over anti-semitic attacks in Sydney and Melbourne. With the relationship between Iran and Australia seemingly deteriorating, questions have been raised about what will happen to Iranians in Australia who haven't been given a pathway to permanency.
