China has become an unavoidable sight Papua New Guinea's capital, Port Moresby ahead of the APEC summit. China has spent $1.3 billion on PNG since 2011 to become the Pacific's second-largest donor after Australia. This year's summit - while conceived as a means to remove trade barriers in the Pacific - is being viewed by some as a contest for regional influence between the US and China.
