Clashes in the West Bank as olive harvest begins

Palestinians clashed with Israeli troops and Jewish settlers in the West Bank on Friday during the yearly olive harvest, which is often a flashpoint between the sides. Dozens of Palestinians escorted farmers to their orchards in a bid to protect them from confrontations with Jewish settlers. Israeli troops were on guard and fired tear gas and stun grenades to try to disperse the crowd.
