CSIRO mapping reveals the mystery of Australia’s deepest lake

It is around twice as deep as Bass Strait, but Australia's deepest lake has never been fully mapped. Lake St Clair is surrounded by Tasmania's Wilderness World Heritage area and was carved out by glaciers over millions of years. In the past week, CSIRO scientists have been producing the first 3D map of the underwater landscape, confirming the vast depth of the natural wonder.
