Dozens of schools across ACT shut over fears of asbestos contaminated sand
Published
Thousands of students within the ACT won't be allowed to return to classrooms on Tuesday. A popular children's sand, recalled over potential asbestos contamination, has been identified at hundreds of schools across the country. 25 schools in the Capitol Territory will remain closed with another 16 undergoing partial closures. The risk of exposure and illness is considered extremely low but cleanup crews are working to minimise the risk in Canberra and South Australia.
