Evacuated residents warned to 'stay away' as Far North Queensland floods worsen
Published
Stay away. That is the warning given to North Queensland residents who were evacuated from their homes as heavy rain continues to batter the region. The downpour has claimed the life of one person so far and at least 1,700 homes are at risk of flooding, with 9,000 residents currently without power. Authorities say the risk of rising water levels is still high and will continue through the week.
