Evacuation orders for Northern NSW residents as Cyclone Alfred nears

As residents along much of the east coast brace for what's to come, some have decided to seek shelter on safer ground. Close to 20,000 people are under evacuation orders around the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales due to the threat of flooding. In Queensland too, residents urged to secure their properties and prepare to leave if necessary.
