Federal government announces ban on AI apps used to generate child abuse material

The Albanese Government has announced it will ban access to AI apps used to generate child abuse material, and for undetectable online stalking. The move forms part of the government's broader strategy to protect children from digital harm, following its social media ban for under 16-year-olds, which comes into effect in December.
