Across Australia, for every dollar a man earns, women on average are earning 88.8 cents. But the government's gender equality agency says the gender pay gap has narrowed to 11.2 per cent. Most sectors have seen improvements but significant pay gaps remain in male-dominated industries, such as finance, construction and mining.
