Government launches largest ever legal claim over PFAS chemicals

The Australian Government has launched a multimillion-dollar lawsuit over the contamination of defence sites with so-called forever chemicals. It's suing manufacturer 3M for more than $2 billion to recover costs investigating and managing contamination perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances - known as PFAS. It’s the largest legal claim ever brought by the Commonwealth, but some say it doesn't go far enough.
