Weather officials have described the sudden downpour that triggered flashflooding along Victoria's Great Ocean Road as an extraordinary and record-breaking event. Emergency services say between two and three hundred people around Lorne and Wye River on the Great Ocean Road were displaced within hours, with the local community rallying to house those forced to evacuate.
