The federal government is facing a warning that fruit will rot on the ground unless Prime Minister Anthony Albanese intervenes to clear the bottleneck of pending applications for working holiday visas. One Nation has promised backpackers would be carved out of its migration restrictions. It comes as the party’s leader, Pauline Hanson, has issued a qualified apology for comments she made about Indigenous Australians.
