Headline inflation cools as fuel prices ease

The halving of the fuel excise is set to end in the middle of the year, as the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show inflation eased in April, partly due to the price relief. As the government considers possible carve outs from its capital gains tax changes, the industry is demanding a complete reset.
