Heatwave shatters temperature records across Australia

Inland areas of Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria are continuing to swelter, as a record-breaking heatwave delivers scorching temperatures, some nearing 50 degrees. The heat has caused major fires in Victoria's southwest to flare up, while firefighters also battled blazes in other parts of the state, including the Tallangatta Valley in the northeast.
