Households could save more than $3000 a year with renewable energy, analysis reveals

Published
Australian households could be missing out on more than $3,000 a year in savings on their energy bills, according to new analysis commissioned by renewable energy advocates, charities and environmental groups. With a looming federal election, these groups are calling on both major parties to help homeowners and renters fund household energy efficiency upgrades, including rooftop solar, home insulation and household electrification. It comes as cost-of-living pressures continue to cause stress, some families unable to cool their homes this summer, or forced to choose between paying bills or buying groceries.
