Housing central to duelling Labor and Liberal campaign launches

The 2025 federal election is now less than three weeks away and the major campaigns have been launched on opposite sides of the country with rival commitments worth tens of billions of dollars. Labor is promising a major increase in housing supply and cheaper mortgages for first home buyers, while the Coalition is pledging to make mortgage repayments tax deductible. The parties have also revealed new cash back plans to attract swinging voters.
