While the FIFA World Cup has taken most of the football attention around the globe, a Tribal Nation in Sacramento has launched a bold plan to grow its footprint. Republic FC, a club in the second tier of American soccer, is building a brand-new stadium. The Wilton Rancheria people made history in 2024 when they became the first Tribe in the United States to buy a majority stake in a professional male sporting franchise.
