New South Wales is now promising the tightest gun laws in the country as the Federal Government pushes for the biggest overhaul to firearms ownership since the Port Arthur Massacre. But former prime minister John Howard — who oversaw the reforms in 1996 — has today labelled that push a 'diversion', as pressure escalates for a comprehensive response to anti-semitism.
