Indigenous veteran acknowledged for military service in breakthrough discovery

A breakthrough discovery by the Australian War Memorial, has identified the earliest known Indigenous man killed in military service. Private Walter Joseph Parker died in 1902 during the Boer War in South Africa - his story commemorated for the first time today in Canberra.
