Kevin Rudd to depart as US Ambassador a year early

Australia's Ambassador to the United States will step down from the role a year earlier than expected. Kevin Rudd will leave the job at the end of March to head up an international think tank and focus on China analysis. The resignation follows a tumultuous period under the Trump administration and scrutiny over Mr Rudd's previous criticism of the president.
