Labor tries to rush through tough new laws for immigration detainees

With just one more day until a six week break, federal parliament has become embroiled in a new highly-charged debate over immigration policy. Labor's trying to stitch up a deal with the Coalition to pass legislation to make it easier to deport detainees before a new High Court decision in April.
