Lawyer says women involved in Swans investigation subject to ‘abhorrent’ behaviour

Published
The lawyer representing two women at the centre of an alleged sexual assault investigation involving five Sydney Swans players claims they were subjected to the most "abhorrent" actions he'd heard in his nearly three decades as a lawyer. George Karantzis said the women are fearing for their lives and announced he's preparing legal action against the club. “I've never seen anything as horrific as this, to women in the workplace," he said. Sydney’s AFLW team have also fronted the media, denying that there is a rift between the men’s and women’s programmes. Captain Lucy McEvoy said the team are “incredibly disappointed, as a lot of people are, with what’s occurred”. If you or someone you know is impacted by sexual assault, call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732, text 0458 737 732, or visit 1800RESPECT.org.au. In an emergency, call 000.
