Minns defends protest ban amid free speech criticism after Bondi terror attack

The New South Wales government has introduced sweeping reforms to gun laws, hate speech and protest activity in the wake of the Bondi terror attack. Some critics say the new anti-protest element of the bill is a knee-jerk reaction which will restrict freedom of speech. Premier Chris Minns rejected the notion, saying the laws will protect the community.
