More countries join Australia in recognising Palestinian state

France, Belgium and Malta have joined Australia in officially recognising an independent Palestinian state. President Emmanuel Macron told the two-state summit that countries could not wait any longer. The focus in New York will soon turn to the UN General Assembly, with President Trump set to address leaders in the coming hours.
