New laws introduced to crackdown on misinformation and disinformation

The nation's media watchdog will be given stronger powers to crackdown on tech companies in order to act on misinformation and disinformation on their platforms. In separate laws introduced today, the federal government will also outlaw the malicious publishing of personal details, with harsh penalties of up to seven years jail.
