New research into Australian veteran suicide rates

Suicide is still the leading cause of death among Australian defence force veterans. 73 veterans and serving ADF members took their own lives in 2023, the figure slowly declining in recent years. That’s according to new data released by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, exactly one year on from the findings of the Royal Commission into Veteran Suicides.
