It was a watershed moment in the history of Australian race relations. The 1965 Freedom Ride —led by charismatic indigenous activist Dr Charles Perkins — journeyed through regional New South Wales, exposing hatred and racial segregation to the world. Now the historic bus journey is being immortalised through a new heritage trail.
