Northern and central Australia lashed by flooding rains

Large parts of Australia are on high alert as severe weather and rain continues to inundate communities and damage key transport routes. The Bureau of Meteorology says two weather systems including a low across Central Australia and a cold front to the south have combined bringing widespread rainfall.
