NT to trial legal pepper spray for self-defence

The Northern Territory is set to become the second jurisdiction in Australia to allow members of the public to own capsicum, or pepper spray. The NT government says it’s for ‘self defence’ as it continues to push law and order reform, but community justice advocates say the move will increase the risk of racial violence.
