Outback asteroid crater found to be world’s oldest

The Earth's oldest known asteroid impact crater has been found in the Australian outback and traced back three billion years. The age has been confirmed by researchers at Curtin University, who investigated rock formations at the North Pole Dome in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
