Parliament rises as government deals with multiple diplomatic challenges

Parliament is rising at the end of the sitting week, as the government fights diplomatic fires on multiple fronts. The Opposition has zeroed in on a hastily arranged trip to Washington by the Deputy Prime Minister. At the same time, the Iranian Ambassador has to leave the country by midday tomorrow, after Iran was accused of masterminding multiple fire bombings of Jewish buildings in Australia.
