Parliament tries to pass dozens of bills

The federal parliament has been put under extraordinary legislative pressure. The government is dealing with dozens of major bills before the Christmas break. The upper house has been voting on the legislation without input from crossbench Senator Lidia Thorpe, who was suspended following her conduct in the Senate yesterday.
