PM announces $2.4 billion rescue package for Whyalla steelworks plant

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced a multi-billion dollar rescue package for the embattled Whyalla steel works in South Australia. The plant was plunged into administration by the state government yesterday, following months of turmoil. Mr Albanese says the move is critical to ensuring Australia's sovereign capability.
