Police use force, tasers to detain Navalny supporters
Published
Police cracked down on protesters across Russia as pro-Navalny rallies to demand his release took place. Over 1,600 people in 75 cities across Russia were detained, 338 of them in the Russian capital. The rallies are part of a campaign to win the release of President Vladimir Putin's critic and opposition activist, who was arrested on Jan. 17 after returning from Germany. He had been recovering there from a nerve agent poisoning.
