Pope Francis endorses same-sex unions

Oscar-nominated director Evgeny Afineevsky said comments made by Pope Francis about homosexuals made during a documentary on his life had not been made in order to change the doctrine of the church. After the screening of his film "Francesco" at the Rome Film Festival, Russian-born Afineevsky, said he was surprised the media was concentrating on this aspect of the film rather than his message of hope he had hoped to portray.
